Yubadocs is a walk in Urgent Care Center that treats patients who walk in and those with appointments for minor emergencies, illnesses, and other common medical needs. We provide quality medical care in a healing, patient-centered, friendly environment. We are open extended hours so we can provide care the same day it is needed. We are the premiere Urgent Care Center for Nevada City, Grass Valley, and western Nevada County.

Urgent care is a specialty devoted to treating acute illnesses and injuries that are non life-threatening and do not require hospitalization. Urgent care is a convenient and affordable alternative to the long waits and high costs found in most emergency rooms. Urgent care centers can often provide the same examinations, testing, diagnosis and treatment as an emergency department at a substantial savings and in less time. At Yubadocs Urgent Care, we are able to take x rays, do ECG’s and spirometry, cast and splint simple fractures and run basic lab work on site, which saves you time. We were the first medical office in the region to be completely electronic, which means no paper charts to lose.

How are we different from an Emergency Room?

Ambulances don’t drop people off here, and we are closed at night.

If you need an ambulance, you need to go to the nearest hospital emergency department for treatment.  We are a freestanding clinic, and, unlike an emergency department, do not have an operating room or ICU in our facility.   Our patients must be well enough to be able to get here on their own and walk, hop or roll in.

How are we different from a typical family doctor’s office?

We have equipment on site and the training, experience and skill to use it that are not found in a typical family physician’s office. We are open extended hours and never close for lunch.   We are open 8AM to 6PM weekdays and 9AM to 4 PM weekends and holidays, and no answering service will tell you to call back after 2 PM.  You can always be seen the same day you need services and unless you are seeking a physical (we prefer you schedule an appointment as this is a long visit), you can walk in with your problem and we will help you. You don’t have to wait weeks for an appointment.

Who are our Patients?

Our patients are:

• People who have a minor emergency and who don’t want to go to the Emergency Room.
• People whose physicians refer them to us because of our expertise with suturing, orthopedics and other urgent care problems, or because of our immediate availability.
• People whose doctor’s office is closed.
• People who don’t want to take off from work to see a doctor, and come in after work or on the weekends.
• Tourists and visitors who have no local doctor and become ill or have an accident while visiting our area.
• Women who want a female health care provider.
• Employers who want employment physicals, drug tests or first aid for work-related injuries.
• Drivers who need a DMV physical.
• Employers who want a quality, cost effective worker’s compensation provider.

What do our patients expect from us?

They expect to be treated with care, respect and kindness. They expect our Providers to be competent and to get an accurate diagnosis.  They expect our services to be more affordable than the Emergency Room.  They expect a personal touch: a returned phone call, staff that get to know them by name. They expect to learn the results of every test that we order, even if it is a postcard saying all your tests were normal.
